Common setup problems
- An older driver is still installed. HP’s 2021 packages fixed a security vulnerability, so replace older versions with the current package.
- You’d rather not install software on a Mac. HP’s specifications list AirPrint support, so macOS can usually add the printer from System Settings without extra software.

hi…please help. my hp color laser jet pro m177 fw is froze with the hp and energy star logo on. how do i solve this…am suspecting firmware but in this state i can do anything with usb because the printer is not seeing it.

Yep, same here. Lots of reports online of the same thing -in each case new printer needed. Looks like the firmware bricks the printer. Not overly impressed.

The Printer print and scan, but, for example, what do I have to do when will be the time to change a toner? How can I rotate the toners without accessing the touchpad?
Is there a way to downgrade to another firmware version?

Can you please share the 20200531 firmware version to me?? The newest firmware blocks 3rd party cartridges I can find older firmware for this printer anywhere on the internet
don’t install any new firmware if you don’t have problem with your current version. My HP printer works perfectly (only problem with scanner). I can still use it as a printer. But after the new firmware installed (without noticing me when I install a new printer driver in my new laptop). I cannot print!!! This is very evil!
